The MTVBase Africa chart is back! Kenya's Jua Cali and Nigeria's Eldee da Don join the countdown for the first time and a certain Nigerian act stays at the top of the countdown. There's even an experience from Nigeria's beloved Ayo. There are some tracks from Museke.com's spanking new African music list as well. Ever wondered what they are playing in Kampala these days? Or Entebbe? Well, we are here to give you an idea. In line with the African music countdowns, here is the July edition of what's hot and popular in Uganda. Some of the musicians on Museke are there and there are the new ones we are all going to be learning about. Henry Tigan is riding with Marlon Asher again while Juliana (the Princess of Tooro) and the Chameleon are doing well too.

South Africa music countdown - July edition

Museke.com brings you more goodies and news you should know. We have compiled a selection of 20 South African artistes whose songs are hot at the moment. Feel free to add whichever songs or artistes we may have missed. In this July edition, we welcome South Africa's violin superstar, Incha as well as Les (formerly of the Jozi group) who has released a solo album. There are some of the usual suspects like Freshlyground and Kabelo as well. Malaika is still going strong on the charts and are bound to enjoy more airplay as we mourn their leader, Jabulani Ndaba who passed away earlier this week.

The award ceremonies are gaining the spotlight. The Kora Awards are back, the Hip Hop World Awards in Nigeria nominations are out, the nominations for the Ghana Music Awards are coming soon, and award ceremonies in Namibia and other African countries are due. We want to know what your favorite African songs of 2007 were. A poll shall be created later for a winner to be adjudged, but for now, we are taking your own nominations.
