Magic System, Les Elephants, Drogba - Football meets music

Football is the passion of many African countries. It has been said that when the music of a state changes, the constituion changes too. Football and music are two things that Africans hold really dearly. When they are merged through songs, anthems and jams used to support football teams, it unites nations, tribes, people and neighbours. Football and music have a special relationship.

Due to some splendid performances by 'Les Elephants', Ivory Coast graced the occasion at the 2006 World Cup in Germany, the first time in a mundial for the West African country. Magic System composed a song together with various members of the national team that could be used to support the Elephants in the march to World Cup glory and beyond. Even though the Elephants couldn't progress out of the group stage, they left an indelible mark on the world stage and you bet that they will be a force in world football. Les Elephants

This video below was made for the song, a tribute by Magic System (of Premier Gaou fame) to the World Cup qualification. It features Ivorian stars like Didier Drogba, Bonaventure Kalou, Kolo Toure, Gilles Yapo Yapo, Bakari Kone, Arouna Kone, Aruna Dindane, Romaric, rocking the mic. Didier Drogba even did a solo song for the Ivorian president, Laurent Gbagbo at a pre-World Cup reception in Abidjan.

When you here in the water and you feel like its order
Releasing your tension the stress and disorder Is big in America
Stephanie, Erica, both of them suffer from livin in hari cuz
Livin is very competitive
Hassling creditors, hazardous accidents
Driving with negligence
Too many beverages, people got to many things on they letters
Says Tv's deadliest, professing the ugliest
War, war, war, war
What the hell you keep on killing me for
Please won't you come and bend down low
Let me tell you what little I know
And if its worth something

Remember there is only one race
And that is the human race
Oh oh

See, one love
One love (3x)
Verse 1
See, just the other day, I saw on CNN
Brutal killing of each other by a true friend
I could not comprehend
So I said to myself maybe the world is coming to an end, cos
Is this love, is this hate, is this war, is it fate oh
I could not relate oh
But there is one thing I can relate and that is the fact that
Chorus
All we need is one love
One love

Better life, we beg you, put the past
Behind you

With all my heart
Lord I give You all the praise
Because You loved and took me in
And You made me whole
You translated me from darkness
Into the light of Your Son
And I feel so loved and blessed
And privileged to be Yours
I've fallen in love so deep in love
With my Lord
Oh Lord I'm ready
To share and talk about all the
Love, Joy, Health, Peace, He
Has made them mine
Has made them mine forevermore
To eternity
The joy of the Lord is my strength
And His peace is my portion
And by His stripes I'm healed
And the Lord is my everything
Because You loved and took me in
And You mad

The agouyadji is sounding
Able bodied men rise up
In today's world, honor is becoming rare
So let us examine our consciences
And seek to refine our race
Our language is not the least important factor
In our dignity
So let us learn it
And let us teach it
That will pay off
From here to the Fouta, Poular is spoken
From Somalia to Mali
From Benin to Guinea
From Cameroon to Gambia
From Egypt to Ethiopia, they speak Poular
If all these people came together
They'd know we have the same mother
Whatever the difference in our dialect
We have the same father
I called Coumba
And Coumba
