Kwabena Kwabena was christened George Kwabena Adu. His name, Kwabena Kwabena depicts the two vocations he is presently in, first as Kwabena, the draughtsman, and Kwabena, the highlife musician.
He emerged after featuring on Kontihene's 2004 hit, Esi and he featured Kontihene on his own debut hit, Aso.
Kwabena attended Datus Complex in Bubuashie, Green Hill School in Achimota, and Aggrey Junior Secondary School. He is an old student of St. Peters secondary school in Nkwatia and is a proud PERSCOBA.
He started playing the guitar in church at the age of 14 and he also lead the church choir. He then started hanging around Hush Hush studios featuring on various songs. He got introduced to Hammer of the Last 2 and did most of the choruses on Hammer's Compilation, called Sounds of our time. He featured on Odo ne Asomdwoe (Love and Peace), a track that also featured heavyweights like Obrafour, K.K. Fosu and Adane Best.
His first big break was when he featured on Kontihene's Esi. Later on, he released his first album called Penpe which was a massive success and hailed by many music fans. The major single, Aso, featured Kontihene. Kwabena went on to achieve a number of Ghana Music Awards, the best vocal performance and the best song writer.
His second album, Da bi, came out in late 2007. Three of his songs were featured in the soundtrack to Sparrow Productions' The Perfect Picture. A music video for 'Do ne bi' was made as a result.
Some of his hits include Ka kyere me, Trodom, Adea waye me, Fakye me, Me ne woa, etc

He has one of the most beautifulest voices. And he's putting it to good use. I love all his songs, especially Meye and Aso.
The GH-233 has tonnes of lekker musicians! They should all hold a private concert for me when I become famous. hehehe. Could u imagine, Kwabena Kwabena, Kojo Antwi, Wutah, Chemphe, Samini, All4Real, VIP, Wanlov, Obrafour...the list goes on. Notice no women allowed in this show lol.
Sigh, I would surely be receiving the key to my heavenly mansion that day.
Big Dreams!
i just can't wait from lectures to listen the 'meye' song. its just 'prekrasny'

More on Kwabena Kwabena
Listened to him on Citi FM in the morning with Bernard Avle, he was in the studio with Nana Quame too.
Seems his lead single is called 'Do ne bi' - it sounded like Samini's Odo and it's good. He and Nana Quame were pretty good in the studio, making up jingles for Citi FM and conjuring up good music with K squared playing the guitar and Nana Quame hitting high notes. Kwabena is probably the best backup singer ever.
Kwabena squared complained the lack of singers around. He said we have performers but not enough people who can sing and command live bands, etc. Kwabena also complained about piracy and called for education on it.
They were also talking about CITI FM's December to Remember, which comes on on the 24th of December with performances from these two, Obrafour, VIP, 5Five, Praye, Kwaku Gyasi, Castro Destroyer, Screwface, among others.

The guy is a terrific musician
okay, so we heard Kwabena Kwabena has a new album out but I am not hearing much about the songs. And when is he going to make a video?
He never made one for the Penpe album, and with the payola situation in Ghana now, music videos are critical.
anyway, you can check this nice track he did with Kofi B here called Odo nkoa
Kwabena Kwabena's Do ne bi has been posted and the song is enjoying great airplay in Ghana. It seems his second album is turning out well. I love the song, it's very well-written and would do really well
I do totally agree with U!! my favorites songs are "Meye" and "Do ne bi"... his voice is incredible!
