SOUL SEARCH AUDITION ENDS

The first phase of auditions for Ghana’s search for a gospel music gem, soul search ended at the Anaji Royal Hotel, Takoradi over the weekend.

The event which started last month in Accra, saw over three hundred contestants coming out to showcase their talent with the aim of making it to the final stages of the competition.

Event organisers, Global Media Alliance expressed satisfaction with the response to the contest. Producer of the program, Sena Atoklo noted that, Season One of Soul Search is just the beginning of greater things to come. According to him, “Soul Search, a TV reality show has come to stay adding that it is GMA’s contribution towards the development of Ghanaian music industry”.

Judges for the competition were very much impressed with the quality of contestants especially from the middle and western zones. The zonal auditions produced forty-two short listed contestants who will compete for a place in the final stage reserved for only twelve contestants.

The next phase of auditions are scheduled for the 28th and 29th of June, 2008, where all 42 will converge at the Earl Beam hotel in Accra.

Judges for the show are, Mr. Joshua Amuah of the University of Ghana, Legion, Mrs. Helen Yawson- Music Director, Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) and Mr. Ernest Kwesi Ennim, Music producer and president Greater Accra MUSIGA.
