Just like so many other musicians, Walter Dee, christened Walter Hammond started his musical career at the age of eleven (11) by performing at the National Theatre organized shows like “Fun World” and “Kiddafest”.

With one already released album under his belt, this 24 year old see his future in the Ghanaian and International music scene as being bright and promising.

Although faced with stiff opposition from his parents initially about his chosen career in music, he nevertheless gave up his dream of making it big in the industry with his God-given talent, and truly, that optimism paid off after his secondary school education at O’reilly Secondadry School in Accra in 2002 when he released his first album titled “Maria” under Asimi Productions which performed quite well for a debut album on the market.

With his second album almost complete, this talented young man candidly admits that it hasn’t been easy coming this far since his first album five years ago, but credits his achievements to God, family and friends who have helped him one way or the other throughout this journey.

And in his bid to society and also drum home the need for society to help the needy and less privileged, especially children, he has through collaboration with Needy Kidz Foundation, a children’s NGO, dedicated a single track titled “SAVE THE ORPHANS AND THE NEEDY”. On his up-coming album to use society’s love for music to also educate them on the need to show some love to the needy. Walter Dee believes that the beautifully arranged single and easy-to-sing along nature will make it a household song for both adults and children and get the message to stick in their heads and hopefully, their hearts as well.

He hopes to go on tour once the album is released and hopes to also donate part of the tour’s proceeds to charity. He therefore c alls on producers and society to help him achieve his dream of giving back to society come true. For him, “beyond the sky” is the limit and hopes to make waves soon in the music industry.
