What was the best song out of Africa in 2006?

It's about that time of year that those music awards ceremonies are getting ready to take place.Smile
We already know the Soweto Gospel Choir did Africa proud by winning the Grammy award for best traditional music album but who do you think would win the award for Africa's best or most popular song in 2006?

We are going to try to keep the discussion to songs released last year so those especially on the continent who watch a lot of Channel O and MTV Base should help us out. Cool
This song can be what was very popular or what you think was the best African song period.

So what song (and by who) wins the prize?

Hello guest, exercise your franchise and support Emmanuella at our Best African song poll here.

So far, all the votes are for Ghanaian and Nigerian songs? Are those songs dominating on the African continent? I doubt though.

You should even by shy supporting Emmanuela. On the international front, it would be better to pick out King Ayisoba.

yea you have a point. King Ayisoba is more like the international artistes known to the wider world, cast in the Salif Keita, Youssour Ndour mold. His song also won the award for Ghana's most popular song so that backs you even more. However, Emmanuella is much popular (and known to) among Africans, just ask around.
Then again, it's a forum here, so I respect your opinion. :-)
