I first heard about Teddy Afro from a Habesha friend who was prepared to do all he could to go to his concert. Then, I only knew him as a popular musician from Ethiopia.
Now, I know more. And you would to.

Teddy Afro, also known as Tewodros Kassahun, sings in Amharic and is probably the most famous Habesha musician. Friends of Ethiopia blogs about how Teddy's music got banned from Ethiopian radio because opposition parties used it as propaganda.
His Shemendefer song is believed to have inspired many new marriages in the "land of 13 months of Sunshine". It is a love song about the love of a Christian and a Muslim.
