Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •

This music video, directed and edited by Omari Pili, is Samini's personal version of the popular Damian Marley track Welcome to Jamrock. He sings about being in Ghana and welcoming people to Ghana.

Samini is a versatile artist out of Ghana, West Africa. Titled 'Welcome to Ghana', the video was done during a special production in 2007. They were there doing a documentary but then took some time out to do a music video. The directors met with Samini and loved his vibe and then chose to film a quick video. It was only now publicly released because the director was simply too busy to get it out.

From the producer, Firebon, "He is a talented guy who deserves all the success, if you can use it to help him I will help as much as I can".

America is from Africa
Ethiopia is in Africa
I say, Liberia, is in Africa
Reggae music lives in Africa

So many times, they try to suppress our heroes

So many times, we have been betrayed

Nelson Mandela is an African hero
Steve Biko is an African hero
Haile Selassie is an African hero

We back again
And to all the ladies out there

Pretty lady, don't you worry
I'm coming home to be with you
Sweety baby, don't you worry
I wanna be close to you

Dunia ka nika piga mpenzi, nisamehe
Ni leo ondoka sasa siku nyingi, sijarudi

Niongoje, nitarudi nyumba

African woman (Kefee)

We appreciate all you've done for us

We wouldn't have been here without you
Thank God for giving us you too

You were there to teach us how to walk
You were there to teach us how to talk

You were there to watch us grow
Took us to school, to and fro

Mama, this song is for you
Papa, this song is for you too
Even though we didn't have much
You still gave my life a special touch
You made me learn how to sing
And now I'm gonna let your praises ring
