During the early '90s, Paul G. enjoyed a brief run as a member of one of the first worldly known African Rap groups SSP. Born Paulo Jorge Marques João in Angola, South West Africa, he grew up skate boarding professionally, dancing, and listening to smooth crooners like Marvin Gaye and Hip-Hop pioneers like LL Cool J and Run DMC.

At age 18, after loosing interest in professional skate boarding and becoming more interested in the American B-Boy culture, Paul G.
