Yeah, yeah
You are my African queen Oooh Lord, oooh Lord
Verse 1
Just like the sun lights up the earth, you light up my life
The only one, I've ever seen with a smile so bright
And just yesterday, you came around my way
And changed my whole scenery with your astonishing beauty
Oh, you coulda make a brother sing
No ordinary thing, a supernatural being
I know you are just brighter than the moon
Brighter than the star, I love you just the way you are.
Chorus
And you are my African Queen, the girl of my dreams
You take me where I've never been
You make my heart go ting-a-ling-a-ling, oh ahh
You are my African Queen, the girl of my dreams
And you remind me of a thing
And that is the African beauty yeah
Yeah, oooh, you are my African queen
Oh Lord, ooh Lord hmm
Verse 2
Out of a million you stand as one
The outstanding one I look into your eyes, girl what I see is paradise
Yeah you captivated my soul
Now everyday I want you more ooh ooh
How can I deny this feeling I'm feeling inside
Ei, oh no one can never take your place
Can never take your space
That's a fact I cannot erase
And you, you are the one that makes me smile
Make me float like a boat upon the Nile
Repeat chorus
Oooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Yeaah yeah Uuh uuh yeah
Verse 3
You are my African queen and I know, oh yes I know hhn
You are my African queen and I know, see I know
See I know what I am feeling in my heart and in my soul
Oh I know that it is love
And I know that this love was surely sent from up above
Cause you're the only one I think of
You are my African queen
And I know that this means that you're the only one that I will serve
I'll give you my heart, my love, my body and my money
Every other thing you think of
Who could think of anything better than you
Who could think of ever hurting you
Sacrifice my all, I'll give it all to you
Cause you are my African queen for REAL
Repeat Chorus
So black, so beautiful
I love you, I love you, I love you
Nwunyem oh, I love you, I love you, I love you
Nwunyem oh, I love you, I love you
Oh yeah, my African queen
I love you, I love you

This is the best song ever! I dedicate this to all the African Queens out there, we love you!
Hmm...no one really used the phrase "my African Queen" till 2face's song. How can we thank him? Now it's all I hear. African men need to be more innovative :-)
Anyway, went to a Tswana party the other day and they practically played all of 2face's songs, seriously. Top that with a repeat on E Be Like Say...watch Batswana try to master pidgin, funniest thing ever....very cute.
2face is the man, he's a trendsetter!
African Queen is everywhere, from Cape Town to Tripoli, everyone loves and owns the song, how about this for Africa's national anthem after unity? Great idea huh
It just kind of sweet wane you hear the song love African's i'm proud to Blak I'm from ethiopan but i love neggr more than everyting
Great to see some love coming from Ethiopia. I am sure Tuface and Naija (not neggr :-D) love you too.
Video for the slow version of African queen posted.
I know African queen is a classic but I wonder if this video was necessary because it pales in comparison to the original. :-)
Anyway, it is a nice video with some beautiful African women.
We love being African Queens but emm...the point of this video number 2? Instead of being so busy making videos, Face-Face should be doing some U.S tours! Cho.
The original vid is classic though, probably one of my (if not the) favorite vids to come out of L'Afrique
A friend passed this on to me today, and it made my day:
A Queen is hopeful. She is strong enough to make all her dreams come true. She knows love, therefore she gives love. She recognizes that her love has great value and must be reciprocated. If her love is taken for granted, it soon disappears.
A Queen has a dash of inspiration, a dabble of endurance. She knows that she will, at times, have to inspire others to reach the potential God gave them. A Queen knows her past, understands her present and moves toward the future.
A Queen knows God. She knows that with God the world is her playground, but without God she will just be played. A Queen does not live in fear of the future because of her past. Instead, she understands that her life experiences are merely lessons, meant to bring her closer to self knowledge and unconditional self love.
..And an old Afr. Queen Performance I still love:
