Target Practice by D-Black (and Kwaku T)

D-Black; born Desmond Blackmore is a multi talented individual, he’s an executive music producer, a marketing executive for Black Avenue works and one of the country’s most prolific hiphop artists.pursuing a degree at the University of Ghana in BFA Film Directing. D-Black has also dabbled in the movie industry in Ghana starring in TV series “Home Sweet Home” and “All That Glitters”. He’s currently shooting his first ever movie with Silverbird films which stars Jackie Appiah & Yvonne Nelson as well.

D-Black’s “Target Practice” album with his right hand man; Peer pressure cohort ; Kwaku-T (Kwaku Tutu)is actually the first hip hop album ever marketed from Ghana internationally. Released 25th December 2008, the video for the first single “Move (Click here to watch Move)“ is currently hitting t.v screens in Europe and on MTV Base around the African continent. It’s gaining massive radio airplay outside their country Ghana in Nigeria, South Africa, Namibia and Liberia.

D-Black features 2Face Idibia, Kwaku-T and J-town on “Stop it”, track 8 on the album which focuses on the stopping of vices from the social to political in our society. The album also features Reggie Rockstone, Asem, Jayso, Wanlov (Kubolor), M.anifest, Eddie blay, Black prophet and more as well as collaborations with Nigeria’s RnB duo, P-square. Another club banger on the album ; “Breathe” (produced by Lil Shaker) where D-Black & Kwaku-T team up with rapper/producer/singer ; Jay-so is an automatic crowd mover and is getting mad airplay in the clubs.

Producers enlisted to work on this 14 track album include Jay-so, Leslee, Jounide and new comer “Lil Shaker” whose first ever production for D-Black is “Breathe” the 2nd single on the “Target Practice” album.

D-Black has performed at various black history month shows, the Jay-z Live in Ghana concert in 2006 , the Fat Joe & Omarion concert, the 2008 ghana music awards, the 2008 Joy FM Night with the Stars. He’s performed with Stevie wonder, P–Square and more.........

He talks about the album, African unity, Pull Him Down (PHD), more respect for Ghanaian artistes and he gives some of his lines on his verse on the 'Move' single.
