Blu*3 is a pop group from Uganda that was started by Lilliane 'Lee' Mbabazi, Jackie Chandiru and Cinderella 'Cindy' Sanyu. Blu3 stands for 3 black ladies from Uganda. It is now made up of Lilian, Jackie and Mya aka Edith Baganda. Lee comes from western Uganda, Cindy and Jackie hail from the East and North respectively. They all grew up singing, leading choirs, etc
They won the Coca-cola popstars competition (2004) for Uganda and were molded into superstars as part of their winning package. In the aftermath, they went on a national tour (Uganda) and performed at various events across the African continent.
Their debut album, Hitaji (2004), caused major waves in Uganda and won a stream of awards. Hitaji means 'need' in Swahili which helped them gain fans from all over East Africa. Their second album, Burn, released in 2007, has been a major success and is poised to win them more awards.
They contributed some of the sales of their first album for the disadvantaged children of Sanyu babies' home and Masulita.
In 2008, Cindy left the group after a misunderstanding to pursue other interests. She was replaced by Mya who first performed with the group at the One Mic music concert in Dar-es-Salaam in 2007 in place of Cindy who was sick. Eventually, Mya was the one to step in as a member after Cindy went out. Mya or Edith was born in 1985 who grew up with four sisters. She started out with the Kombat dancers who mostly backed up artistes in concerts, etc. She eventually worked with the Obsessions gals but quit after a month. She auditioned for Blu3 later after Cindy had left and was chosen to replace her.
Some of their songs include Frisky, Burn, Kankyakyanke, Nsanyuka Nawe, Don't say, Time To say Goodbye, Nkwekumidde, Tomalako, Nkulowoza, Ndayila Ndibawuwuo, Best Friend, Fly away, Katika, etc

YOUR SO NICE GUYS.
From Allafrica.com
Created three years ago, the Coca Cola Pop stars only reigning group, Blu*3 is headed to lose one of its original members. The most-approachable and friendly of all the girls, Cinderella Sanyu a.k.a Cindy has been 'forced' out of Blu*3.
This comes after Steve Jean recently threw in his towel as manager of the group to Club Rouge's Ally Alabhai, saying he was too busy with his Fenon Studios to effectively manage the group.
This is very sad. Cindy was definitely the face of Blu3, I hope she can get back in, if not, I wish her the best in her music career from here.
without cindy blu3 is just crap
i dunno if Blu3 would be crap without Cindy, they'll do just fine.
Maybe they may replace her even.
so they broke up over a prolonged holiday by Cindy? Am sure they could have worked this out. Steve Jean would be a huge loss, that guy is very good.
i can't believe cindy is no more part of Blu3, how are they going to replace her?
3lw replaced one of their girls and they were never heard of let alone replacing the lead singer
i hope cindy starts another group and sends blu3 into history
So the new member of Blu3 to replace Cindy is called Mya
The statement on their Myspace says: "Mya is officially the new member of Blu3 and replaces Cindy who went on to pursue other interests. Blu3 are currently in studio recording their third yet untitled album with a slew of award winning producers. Brace yourself for another scorcher!"
In other news, Blu 3 is referred to as East Africa's TLC. Interesting.

i cant believe thay broke up and brought this stupid looking clown to the group, cindy was my favorite of all ,this is not fair for real.i use to love blu3 and now i just dont know.mya please go back to where you came from or just to hell
mya is not that bad, things like this happen.
We'll see if they do better with this change.
Cindy was my favorite. With her the group was complete, plse blu2 do your group a favor and beg her to come back.
Cindy is very selfish to leave the group. she's not even the best singer. all the girls should have gone solo in this case. Lee and Jackie will be fine
