Ghanaian All-Stars compose song welcoming Obama to Ghana
American President Barack Obama will be visiting Ghana July 10-11. It will be his first visit to a Sub-Saharan African country, he visited Egypt earlier this year. Ghanaian musicians always come together to compose songs for various campaigns and Ohene-Media Music, One Mic Entertainment and Lynx Entertainment have united to produce this 'Akwaaba' song. This follows the many Barack Obama songs composed by African musicians since he emerged on the scene. You can see the video below.
The All-Star welcome song for President Obama features Okyeame Kwame (Rap Doctor), Irene, Asem, Vyroz, Kalibus, Ta -2, O J Blaq, Echo, A J Nelson, Lady Prempeh, and Mad Fish. At the tail end of the song, it reads, 'The youth of Ghana welcome President Obama'. Obama's visit is heralded highly in Ghana because of how he inspires Ghanaians. His election victory last November was celebrated massively. 'Obamable' has become Ghanaian lingo which means 'Possible'. With Barack Hussein Obama's rise to the position of America's President, many people feel everything is 'Obamable'.
