Azagaia (which means light javelin or spear) is a Mozambican hip-hop artiste, university student and rapper.

The rawness of his music and the lyrical content of his songs have caused discomfort in some circles, took the mozambican blogging community by storm and saw him apparently fall victim to alleged attempts at silencing his voice.

His album, Babalaze, was released in 2007. He has been a very controversial artiste due to some of his lyrics. His song 'As Mentiras da Verdade' talked about the murder of journalist Carlos Cardoso and the subsequent trial.

    Ivannea Jose

Dama do Bling was born Ivannea Jose in Mozambique. Dama do Bling is the queen of Mozambican hip hop and may be one of the best female rappers from Africa. Dama do Bling has been referred to as Mozambique's Lil Kim.

Her music can be classified as hip hop but has elements of crunk as well as local Mozambican music. She grew up imitating and performing tracks of stars like Da Brat and Queen Latifah.

In 2005, she featured on two tracks on Lizha James' album. They are both signed to Bang Entertainment. The next year, she released her debut single called 'Haterz'.

    Elisa Lisete James Humbane

Elisa Lisete James Humbane, popularly known as Lizha James, is one of the biggest musicians in Lusophone Africa.
She mixes the rhythms of reggae, R & B, dell’hip hop, as well as local Mozambican styles like marrabenta.

She started singing at a very young age. She was part of the groups, Electrobase and the female rap trio Bloody Town.

Her first solo album was Watching you, but it was not released. 5 years later, Lizha James recorded her second album, entitled A Raínha do Ragga, whose song "4 all ya" .

    Neyma Júlio Alfredo

Neyma is a Mozambican singer, born on 6th May 1979 in Maputo. She is well-known for her kind of music which is influenced heavily by marrabenta, and other genres like zouk, soul, r&B, kizomba, etc. She is known as the “Queen Diva of Mozambique” by her fans, Neyma is truly an icon for Marrabenta music (Mozambican rhythm).

Neyma began singing at a young age where she sang at various events, weddings, in bars, at parties in and around Maputo. Neyma fully began her career when she appeared on the TV show singing competition of Fantasia where she took in the second place.

    Nelson Angelo da Conceicao Sitoe

Simba was born Nelson Angelo da Conceicao Sitoe in the outskirts of Maputo, in Mozambique.

He fell in love with Hip-Hop in 1993 when he saw the American band "De La Soul" on TV and this increased when he saw Common's "I used to love her". He started emulating American rappers and in 1997 he started composing his own lyrics. He then formed a group that was called Broxen.

He left the group in 1999 and launched his solo career with a song called Glorious Food in 2001.

Ziqo is a rap/hip-hop artiste from Mozambique. He is famous for his Maboazuda hit.

Zico is signed to a contract with MCel there, which uses his image in marketing campaigns. He is under Bang Entertainment Records which also produces Lizha James, Dama do Bling, and Denny Og.

Some of his songs include Vamos Embora, Warosana, Gostosa maboazuda, Mabatata, Injeva, Mimova, Moçambicana como dança, Patrão é Patrão, etc
